Thanks Smith, Archie, Tulu and Ashish for sharing your thoughts with aamjunta.

I really feel some time and think where are we heading for? Disaster? Prosperity? I dont sense the prosperity though.

Will have to do some thing, before it gets too late.

Once again aamjunta catches the hidden holes of the Holy system, sensitive enough for an endless debate and I'm happy to see the main issue being triggered successfully. I hope this will pass mind-to-mind from across the ages in all corners of the country.

Yes we are talking about the realization of Good Planning / Poor planning. Development and Unwanted Development. Looking to the Pace and Depth of technical advancement around world, the Baby Indian Institutes ( I.I. [I] T/M) are golden gifts.

Stretching, overloading, modifying and re-defining an well experienced old elite systems is brutal. 5 decades back it has a mission and a vision. All along these years it has maintained it's dignity and excellence by many changes, modifications and developments from time to time with limited geographical space and ecological balance. Which at present seems to be very tight and more rightly is unstable, b'coz of crossing all upper limits .

Mass production was popularized in the early 20th century by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company which is mainly for low cost production. Applying the same funda here, to Biological Research Machine, without accounting to the side effects may broadly cause two effects. 1) May be the best(Nobel Prize winners) ever produced due to competitive and coordinative spirit from a wide range of talent or 2) A nadir due to cannibalization. [:P] (Sorry, this is completely imaginary no reality till time = infinity. )
A myopic view will tell the affect will be within these two bounds without touching either limit. So the net result will be feeling insecure, scalar/human value will be less, Intense pressure, more competition, less rest, stress, all types of personal problems, unit less and faction.

And at the end of the day one will see teacher to student ratio is much less and the cumulative affect (personal+academic) is quality of research is compromised.[As usual the case of mass production :( ].

Let's hope for the best there is a demarcation between any other college / university with IIT/M and later'll prevail ab-ovo to ad infinitum.

To me "it looks like a two sided hone", lets see how the equation is balanced and able to serve the society with same dignity and elite.
For every development there are certain kind of unwanted developments but those things to be taken care of with importance.

Being a VLSI person and looking to the trends in modern world I'd say probably this is God's wish created a single space limited world but humans r rapidly increasing. "21st century is the era of miniaturization.."

Thanks a lot.!

One point here all of us can notice..our top management is governed by a bunch of cook , not by any of the guest..that is why the quality of drink is getting dilute. So its our time to work as a waiter to serve the dilute food in a brightened face and correct it where ever possible.

In addition to this there is also the deterioration in the quality / quantity of food, lab equipments, and a massive shift in the student - teacher ratio, not to mention the administrative issues as well.

It is heart breaking to see, what are considered to be the greatest minds of our country, bucking under political / local pressures with no choice / voice of their own.

Education institutions are supposed to be the sacred circle of liberal thinking and constructive planning. Needless to say the politicos have a choke hold on the circle and it will soon become a noose...

Where are we headed?

>Single rooms have now become double rooms and double >rooms might be tripled or quadrupled.

Rightly said. New double rooms in Hostel 12/13 are going to have 4 students, courtesy bunker beds.
